Afghanistan is often in the news these days, for all the wrong reasons.
Well, in a prequel to our Oka travels, we did a great motorhome tour of the country in 1974/5 and you can read our extensive blog here or click the photo. The blog’s worth a visit because Afghanistan is a very beautiful and friendly country despite how it is portrayed these days.
The articles were also summarised in the CMCA Wanderer magazine in July and August 2010, although they chose to leave out the dramatic section on the sport of Buzkashi on the basis that it was too violent and gory and might upset their readers, which it very well might. It’s all in the blog though, movies and all.
